A special POCSO court in Jaipur has denied anticipatory bail to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal in a serious case alleging repeated rape of a minor girl over two-and-a-half years.
The decision by Judge Alka Bansal underscores evidence like chats, photos, videos, call records, and hotel stays pointing to Dayal's involvement, ruling out false implication at this stage.

The FIR at Sanganer Sadar police station claims Dayal lured the complainant, now 19, but a minor at the start, with cricket career promises, emotionally blackmailed her, and allegedly raped her at hotels in Jaipur and Kanpur. Police invoked POCSO Act provisions due to the victim's age during initial incidents, with a recent alleged assault during IPL 2025 in Jaipur.
This follows a July 2025 FIR registration, marking it as Dayal's second such case after a Ghaziabad complaint where the Allahabad High Court stayed the arrest.
Dayal's lawyer, Kunal Jaiman, contended that meetings occurred only in public, the girl posed as an adult, took money for financial issues, and filed the case for extortion, linking it to the Ghaziabad matter. The defense portrayed Dayal as a "respected cricketer" targeted by a conspiracy, pledging cooperation with probes. Despite this, the court prioritized the gravity of POCSO allegations, denying protection.
Rajasthan High Court in August 2025 refused interim arrest stay, deeming intervention premature in minor victim cases and ordering case diary submission. The Ghaziabad case involved similar exploitation claims from five years prior, with marriage promises unfulfilled. Dayal, a Uttar Pradesh native and IPL standout for RCB, now risks arrest as investigations continue.
Dayal is part of the RCB side and has been a key player for them. The left-arm pacer was instrumental in their IPL 2025 title victory.
