Rory McIlroy Injury Update: World No. 2 to get treatment on elbow before The Masters

By Stats Perform

Rory McIlroy revealed he is set to have treatment on his right elbow before The Masters.

The world number two finished in a tie for fifth at the Houston Open over the weekend, finishing five strokes adrift of winner Min Woo Lee.

McIlroy to get elbow treatment

It follows his victory at the Players Championship earlier in March, having also won at Pebble Beach earlier in 2025.

McIlroy will once again be among the favourites at Augusta, as he aims to finally complete the career Grand Slam and end an 11-year wait for major glory.

He will need work on discomfort to his elbow, though he did not suggest he was overly concerned by the issue.

"My right elbow has been bothering me a little bit, so I'll get some treatment on that and make sure that's okay going into Augusta," McIlroy said after a carding a final-round 64.

"I still feel like I've got some stuff to work on. I still don't think my game is absolutely 100 per cent under the control I would want.

"I've got my coach, Michael Bannon, coming in [Monday] so we'll be working at home and making sure the game feels good going into the Masters."

The Masters will take place between the April 10 and April 13, with world number one Scottie Scheffler the defending champion after winning a second green jacket 12 months ago.
