In the past 24 hours, the world of sports has witnessed a flurry of significant developments. From cricketing legends being honoured to historic football triumphs and records tumbling at Wimbledon, the action has been unrelenting.
Sachin Tendulkar got his portrait at MCC Museum and heaped praise upon young India captain Shubman Gill, while PSG defeated Real Madrid at the Club World Cup semi-final to set up a summit clash with Chelsea while Novak Djokovic reaching yet another Wimbledon semi-final. Here are the top stories from July 10.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar showered praise on India's new Test captain Shubman Gill, stating that the young batter currently shows no visible weaknesses in his game.
Speaking to the BBC in London ahead of the third Test between India and England at Lord's, Tendulkar said, "He's batting exceptionally well, appears calm, composed, and in complete control. Normally, opponents look to exploit a batter's weak spots, but at this moment, I don't see any in his game."
A stunning new portrait of Sachin Tendulkar, painted by Stuart Pearson Wright, was unveiled at the MCC Museum before the start of the third Test. The head-and-shoulders portrait will later be moved to the Pavilion, where he joins Kapil Dev, Bishan Bedi, and Dilip Vengsarkar in MCC's prestigious portrait collection.
The Master Blaster after unveiling the portrait at the Home of Cricket, said, "It's a huge honour. In 1983, when India won the World Cup, it was my first introduction to Lord's. I saw our captain, Kapil Dev, lift the trophy. That moment sparked my cricketing journey. Today, with my portrait going up inside the Pavilion, life feels like it's come full circle. When I reflect on my career, it brings a smile to my face. This is truly special."
After India's pace spearheads Jasprit Bumrah and bowling stars from the second Test Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep failed to get a breakthrough in the morning session of the 3rd Test against England at Lord's, it was all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy who provided the visitors with a much needed respite.
Making a strong case as India's fourth seamer, the Andhra Pradesh all-rounder turned the tide on Day 1 of the 3rd Test by dismissing Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley in the same over after England got off to a steady start. His double strike gave India much-needed respite.
India's women's team scripted history by winning their first-ever T20I series against England, securing a 3-1 lead with a six-wicket win in the fourth match. Radha Yadav and young spinner Shree Charani starred with the ball, while Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana sealed the chase in style.
India's only previous T20I win against England came back in 2006 in Derby. Since then, the Women in Blue had consistently fallen short in bilateral T20I series against the English side, both on home soil and overseas.
The win comes as a timely confidence boost for the Indian side as they continue to adapt to English conditions ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, which is set to be held in the UK next year.
Wiaan Mulder's bold decision to declare at 367 not out in a Test against Zimbabwe drew criticism from Chris Gayle. The West Indies legend said Mulder had "blown a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to chase Brian Lara's iconic 400* Test record, calling it an "error" by the young South African.
"If I could get the chance to get 400, I would get 400," Gayle told talkSPORT.
"That doesn't happen often. You don't know when you're going to get to a triple-century again. Any time you get a chance like that, you try and make the best out of it. Come on, you're on 367, automatically you have to take a chance at the record. If you want to be a legend."
A Madrid court sentenced Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti to one year in prison and a €386,000 fine for tax fraud related to image rights during his first stint at Real Madrid in 2014. However, under Spanish law, he is unlikely to serve jail time due to the sentence being under two years and non-violent.
Lionel Messi made MLS history by becoming the first player to score multiple goals in four consecutive matches, netting twice in Inter Miami's 2-1 win over New England Revolution. The Argentine now has 14 goals in just 15 MLS matches, putting him in reach of the league's Golden Boot.
Novak Djokovic battled past Italy's Flavio Cobolli in four sets to reach the Wimbledon 2025 semifinals, equalling Chris Evert's Open Era record of 52 Grand Slam semi-final appearances. The Serbian legend also marked his 14th semi-final at Wimbledon and will next face World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Paris Saint-Germain crushed Real Madrid 4-0 in the Club World Cup semifinal to book a title clash with Chelsea. It was another statement performance from Luis Enrique's side, who have already won Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the Champions League this season. A fourth title on Sunday could complete a historic sweep.
After orchestrating a 4-0 win over arch-rivals Real Madrid, PSG coach Luis Enrique revealed his phone was "full of messages from Barça fans" congratulating him. Enrique, a former Barcelona manager, called it a professional high point and insisted there was "no holding back" as his side marches toward a quadruple.
