Sports Bulletin of February 2: From India Women's winning U19 T20 World Cup to Pakistan appointing Female Manager

The world of sports saw a plethora of developments across Sunday. The Indian U19 women's team won their second T20 World Cup title in a row, while Gautam Gambhir also heaped praises on veteran duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

1. India U19 Women's lift T20 World Cup title

The India U19 women's team lifted the 2nd ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup title on Sunday in Malaysia. The starlets showcased their domination and bundled out South Africa for just 82 runs and then chased the score down with more than 8 overs to spare. With this, the Indian team has now won consecutive titles in the first two editions of the tournament.

2. Gongadi Trisha wins Player of the Series Award in U19 Women's T20 World Cup

Gongadi Trisha was bestowed with the Player of the Series award in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup for her brilliant performances. Trisha also won the player of the match award in the final for her 3 wickets and unbeaten 44 runs with bat. In the World Cup, Trisha ended up with 309 runs and 7 wickets.

3. Sanjay Manjrekar backs Sanju Samson

Former India player and pundit Sanjay Manjrekar believes Sanju Samson must be given an extended run to return to form. Samson has been struggling in the T20I series against England and Manjrekar says "I will have a lot of patience with this current version of Sanju Samson."

4. PCB appoints Hina Munawar as first female manager

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed the first-ever female manager in Hina Munawar ahead of the Champions Trophy. Munawar will be in charge of the men's team in the ICC tournament, which is set to start from February 19. Pakistan will be up against New Zealand in the first match in Karachi.

5. India look to continue domination against England in Mumbai

With the series clinched already, the Indian team will be aiming to conclude the T20I assignment on a high as they face England in the fifth match on Sunday. Suryakumar Yadav's men will be playing at the Wankhede Stadium and they will be hoping to win the series 4-1. India won the last match in Pune to secure an unassailable lead in the five-match T20I series.

6. Gautam Gambhir heaps praises on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

India head coach Gautam Gambhir says Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will play 'massive roles' for India in the Champions Trophy. Gambhir heaped praises on the veteran duo and said they add a lot of value to the squad. The India head coach also affirmed the hunger for success for the veterans, who may well be playing their final ICC tournament in national colours.

7. Gukesh D climbs up to 3rd in Chess Rankings

India's chess star Gukesh D has climbed up to 3rd position in the Chess live ratings. The Indian grandmaster is also tied on points with R Praggnanandhaa in the Tata Chess Masters. Both are currently on 8.5 points after Round 12 of the competition.

8. Marcus Rashford set to leave Man United

Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United as the striker is edging towards a loan move to Aston Villa. Rashford has been down the pecking order under new coach Ruben Amorim and the England international will be hoping to revive his season under Unai Emery.

9. Jey Uso wins Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair clinches Women's Royal Rumble

Jey Uso won the men's Royal Rumble 2025 after eliminating hall of fame John Cena. Cena, despite the defeat, will be participating in the next pay per view. On the other hand, Charlotte Flair managed to win the women's Royal Rumble/
