The IPL 2025 mega auction is just a week away. Although the flagship event is building up, there is no shortage of action in the World of Sports.

On Sunday (November 17), the Indian team played in a simulation match against India A and there are some simultaneous bittersweet developments from Perth. Also there is an impending chance of a player flying to Australia, while one India A player may stay back down under.

1. Shubman Gill out of Perth Test

Shubman Gill is ruled out of the first Test match against Australia. The India batter suffered a finger injury while fielding in the simulation match and subsequently won't take part in the Perth Test. The India team management hopes that he will be fit ahead of the 2nd Test in Adelaide.

2. KL Rahul eases pressure after injury scare

KL Rahul, who has been struggling with an elbow issue, eased the pressure on the India think tank with a decent outing in the nets. The batter looked comfortable and faced the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana for an extensive period. It will come as a huge relief as Rahul is tipped to replace Gill in the Perth Test.

3. ICC announce Champions Trophy tour venue

ICC has announced the full schedule of the Champions Trophy tour and the POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) cities have been removed from the list. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) boasted a list of cities with the Trophy tour and it included cities like Skardu, Muzzafarabad, which lies in the POK. The stunt irked BCCI and now the ICC has taken action against PCB's stunt. The new roster has removed the POK cities.

4. Virat Kohli looks less than comfortable in simulation match, bats twice

Virat Kohli was far from his best as the batter batted twice in the simulation match against Australia A in Perth. He scored 15 and 30 runs with the bat but the fluent flow was missing. The India batter underwent a scan in Australia, without revealing the cause behind it. He is expected to play in the first Test.

5. Devdutt Padikkal may come in for injured Gill

Devdutt Padikkal, who was part of the India A team, has been told to stay back ahead of the first Test. Amid skipper Rohit Sharma's unavailability and Gill's injury, Padikkal is to be kept as a backup for the Perth encounter.

6. Mohammed Shami roars back with 7-wicket haul for Bengal

Mohammed Shami roared back in royal fashion and helped Bengal to win a crucial Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. The India pacer picked up 7 wickets across two innings and looked in excellent rhythm. Reports have also stated Shami may fly to Australia ahead of the 2nd Test, but the India pacer's clearance for the Aussie trip is subject to fitness and medical staff's decision.

7. Germany, Netherlands secure easy victories

Germany secured a 7-0 cakewalk over Bosnia & Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League. Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz were among the scorers as they secured top spot in their group. Netherlands also managed a crucial win over Hungary to bolster their playoff chances. Wout Weghorst, Cody Gakpo were amongst the scorers as the Dutch blew away Hungary 4-0 at home.

8. Bengal Warriorz slump to third consecutive defeat in PKL 2024

Another dismal outing for Bengal Warriorz in the PKL 2024 saw them getting beaten at the hands of Tamil Thalaivas. Maninder Singh didn't start for them and the defence was also abysmal as the Warriorz slumped to their third consecutive defeat of the season.

9. Mohammed Shami is ready for Action, says Bengal captain

Mohammed Shami is fit to play for India, reckons Bengal captain Anustup Majumdar. The veteran was ecstatic for Shami and heaped praises on the India bowler for his excellent figures against Madhya Pradesh. He also hailed the entire Bengal team for their grit and determination in the match, which swung like a pendulum but ended in their favour. Bengal won the match by just 11 runs and now sit 3rd in the Elite Group B after the first phase of the tournament.

10. Cristiano Ronaldo may retire in 'One or Two Years'

Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a bombshell and has confirmed that he may retire from football in one or two years. The Portugal international says he will leave the game when his body won't permit. The Al Nassr captain also confirmed his wish to reach 1000 goals in career.
