Gargi Raut, an Indian sports journalist with RevSportz Global, shared a video from outside Ahmedabad's cricket stadium after India's 96-run win over New Zealand, capturing a fan inappropriately touching her while she reported live.
In the clip, Raut could be seen speaking and then a perverted human being, whose face could be seen, touched her wrongly. The journalist was stunned and left speechless. Ahmedabad Police to emphasise that reporters deserve safe working conditions without harassment.
In a country such as India, where women's safety is often questioned, the incident has further epitomized the lack of security even in public places. Ahmedabad Police has yet to respond to the incident, but a probe to find the culprit is expected.
