Teen Indian Powerlifter Dies After 270kg Weight Falls on Her in Gym Mishap

In a tragic incident, 17-year-old powerlifter Yashtika Acharya lost her life after a training accident at a gym in Rajasthan's Bikaner. The young athlete, a gold medallist in the Junior National Games, was attempting a heavy lift when a 270kg barbell slipped and fell on her neck, leading to fatal injuries.

According to police reports, the accident occurred on Tuesday during a training session under the supervision of her coach. As Yashtika attempted to lift the massive weight, she lost control, and the bar came crashing down, breaking her neck. Her trainer also suffered minor injuries while trying to assist her.
