Vaibhav Suryavanshi Receives PM Narendra Modi’s Blessings During Special Patna Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met India's emerging cricketing talent, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, along with his family during a brief interaction at Patna Airport. The meeting, marked by warmth and encouragement, saw the Prime Minister commend the youngster's rising stature in Indian cricket.

PM Modi conveyed his admiration for Vaibhav's performances and offered his blessings for the road ahead.

"At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours," the Prime Minister tweeted following the interaction.

The meeting was made possible through the initiative of Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) president Rakesh Tiwari, who obtained special permission from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to facilitate Vaibhav's travel to Patna.

"It was not just a personal milestone for Vaibhav but also a proof of the fact that there is no dearth of talent in Bihar cricket - what is needed are the right platforms, opportunities, and positive guidance," said Tiwari in a statement.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a native of Bihar, has rapidly risen to prominence, capturing national attention during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Representing Rajasthan Royals, the dynamic batter has accumulated 252 runs from just seven matches at a staggering strike rate of 206.56.

His journey to stardom began last year when he became the youngest player ever bought at an IPL auction, signing with the Royals for INR 1.1 crore. His exploits continued in domestic cricket, where he marked his List-A debut with a blistering 71 off 42 deliveries against Baroda in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy - becoming the youngest Indian to register a fifty in the format.

As Vaibhav's career gathers momentum, the meeting with the Prime Minister stands as a symbolic moment - both for the young cricketer and for the cricketing ecosystem in Bihar, which continues to seek recognition and opportunity on the national stage.
