Yuzvendra Chahal reveals Double Health Blow on Social Media as India spinner misses out SMAT 2025 Final

By MyKhel Staff

Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spinner, recently revealed he is battling both dengue and chikungunya, which sidelined him from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final for Haryana.

He shared this update on social media on December 18, 2025, expressing optimism about his recovery and return to cricket. Doctors have advised complete rest, with hopes of a comeback in the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting December 24.

Yuzvendra Chahal reveals Double Illness on Social Media as India spinner missed out SMAT 2025 Final

Chahal's ordeal began after his last match for Haryana against Hyderabad on November 30, 2025, when symptoms of high fever, severe body pain, and joint aches from the mosquito-borne viruses struck.

The dual infection, common in India post-monsoon, intensified his fatigue and forced him out of domestic action, leading Haryana to a 69-run loss in the SMAT final without his spin expertise. Despite the setback, the 35-year-old with over 200 international wickets posted on social media about his health struggle.

"Wishing my team Haryana all the very best for the SMAT finals. I wished to be a part of the team but unfortunately I am down with dengue and chikungunya, which have really taken a toll on my health. The doctors have asked to focus only on rest and recovery. I'll be back to the field and bowling to my full strength soon," Chahal wrote.

The veteran India spinner missed out on the SMAT final and his team Haryana suffered a defeat at the hands of Jharkhand.
