Nikki Ayers Biography

Her background includes playing rugby union for Tuggeranong ViQueens and competing in surfboat rowing with Broulee Canberra Capitals. These experiences laid a strong foundation for her rowing career. She was inspired to take up rowing after attending an information session at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Competitive Achievements

She competed at the 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, marking a significant milestone in her career. Her dedication and hard work have earned her numerous accolades. In 2023, she was named Female Para Athlete of the Year by the South Australian Sports Institute.

Additionally, she and her crewmate Jed Altschwager were honoured as Para Crew of the Year by World Rowing and at the Hancock Prospecting Rower of the Year Awards. She also received the titles of Para Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year at the 2023 Canberra Sports Awards.
