A student of Biology at the University of Northern Iowa, she began swimming at age four. She later took up Para swimming at the same university in Cedar Falls, IA, USA. Her coaches, Nick Lakin and Ben Colin, encouraged her to transition from non-disabled swimming to Para swimming.

Her motivation stems from her love for the sport and the support she receives from her friends and coaches. "Every time I jump in the water I have so much fun," she shared. "There's going to be a lot of things that just set you back but you always need that one thing that keeps you motivated."
Before competing, she listens to music and dances with friends to get excited and pumped up. This ritual helps her focus and perform at her best during competitions.
She was named Swimmer of the Meet at the 2022 National Championships in Charlotte, NC, USA. This accolade highlights her dedication and skill in Para swimming.
Looking ahead, she aims to compete at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. This goal drives her daily training and commitment to the sport.
Her journey from non-disabled swimming to becoming a top Para swimmer is inspiring. With continued support from her coaches and friends, she is well on her way to achieving her dreams.
