Rafal Czuper Biography

Before his accident, Czupi was actively involved in various sports, including football, table tennis, martial arts, and kickboxing. After his accident, he returned to table tennis upon learning about Para table tennis during his hospital stay. He then connected with coach Marek Iwanicki, who began training him.

Training and Coaches

Czupi trains under the guidance of Marek Iwanicki at his club, START Bialystok. For national-level competitions, he is coached by Andrzej Ochal and Marta Smetek. His dedication to the sport is evident through his rigorous training and strategic preparation.

Playing Style and Philosophy

Playing right-handed, Czupi has a unique pre-match ritual where he visualises his opponent's playing style. This mental preparation helps him anticipate and counter his opponent's moves effectively. His philosophy is simple yet profound: "The way to success always goes uphill!"

Awards and Recognition

In recognition of his contributions to sports, Czupi received the Silver Cross of Merit from the president of Poland in 2019. Additionally, he was honoured with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2021.

Personal Life

Outside of sports, Czupi enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife Magdalena and friends. He speaks Polish and Russian fluently. His admiration for Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic reflects his passion for excellence in sports.
