Remy Boulle Biography

He took up Para canoeing in 2014 after a parachuting accident during an army training exercise. Before joining the army, he had been involved in canoeing. During rehabilitation, he realised how much muscle he had lost and decided to return to sports. He heard that canoeing would be added to the Paralympic programme for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Achievements

He became the first male French canoe sprint athlete to win a Paralympic medal in the sport when he claimed bronze in the men's KL1 200m event at the 2020 Games in Tokyo. In 2021, he was named Knight of the National Order of Merit in France.

Training and Philosophy

He has up to 14 training sessions per week. His philosophy is simple: "Sport makes happiness." This mindset has driven him to excel in his sport and inspire others through his motivational speaking engagements.

Other Sports

He competed at the 2017 and 2018 Invictus Games in Para cycling. During these events, he presented a bracelet to Prince Harry in Toronto, Canada, in 2017. The bracelet was decorated with blue, white, and red colours and had the logo of the Paralympic Games.

In 2019, during Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, he presented a bracelet to French president Emmanuel Macron. The bracelet had the words 'bravery, strength and determination' in French. He felt a sincere emotion when Macron accepted it and wore it on his wrist.
