Roma, an accomplished athlete, coach, and student, has made significant strides in his career. He began training for athletics at age 16 in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. Coach Oleksandr Kiselyov encouraged him to try the sport, which he enjoyed. Roma made his debut for Ukraine at the Grand Prix in Grosseto, Italy, in 2015.

Roma is married to Yulia and has two children, Andriyko and Varya. His family has been a source of support throughout his career.
Roma's career is marked by numerous achievements. He was named one of the three best Para athletes of the year for 2023 in the Cherkasy region of Ukraine. He received the Orders of Merit [third and second class] of Ukraine for his achievements at the 2016 and 2020 Paralympic Games.
