Steffi, also known as Lieschen, began her journey in table tennis at the age of 12. Initially involved in football and karate, she discovered table tennis during a holiday in Greece. Upon returning to Germany, she joined the 3B Berlin club. It was here that Christian Bode, a coach from the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS), noticed her talent and encouraged her to pursue Para table tennis.

Outside of table tennis, Steffi enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her cats Punktchen and Pauli. She speaks both English and German fluently. Her educational background is in Social and Behavioral Science.
Steffi works as a placement officer team lead for the Federal Employment Agency (BA) in Germany. She has also volunteered at the Moorreger SV sports club and has been involved with the Social Association of Germany, which aims to strengthen the rights of disadvantaged people.
