Taay made her debut for Brazil in 2017 at the World Cup in Eger, Hungary. Her commitment to the sport is evident as she trains up to seven hours a day, six days a week. Her dedication has been unwavering since she started.

Her father has been a significant influence on her career. She also looks up to Brazilian Para powerlifter Bruno Carra as her hero. Taay lives by the philosophy: "Never give up, get up after falling down, smile after failing, and try again until it is done."

Education and Training

Taay studied Physical Education at Universus Veritas University Center in Rio de Janeiro. She speaks Portuguese and is currently affiliated with Futel/CDDU/Praia Clube in Rio de Janeiro. Her coach, Weverton Santos, guides her both at the club and national levels.

City Switch and New Opportunities

In 2022, Taay relocated from Rio de Janeiro to Uberlandia. She began training at the Reference Centre of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee. This move brought new opportunities and support from sponsors, which she lacked in Rio. "I came to Uberlandia to look for opportunities," she said.
