Alcaraz Promises '100% Readiness' At US Open Following Ankle Injury Scare

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has downplayed his recent ankle injury, ensuring fans of his full recovery in time for the US Open. He aims to clinch his second title at Flushing Meadows, following victories at the French Open and Wimbledon.

Carlos Alcaraz has assured fans that his recent ankle issue is minor and he will be fully fit for the US Open. The Spaniard aims to secure his second title at Flushing Meadows, having won it two years ago, and add a third major title this season after victories at the French Open and Wimbledon.

Concerns arose when Alcaraz withdrew from practice on Friday due to an ankle injury. However, he clarified that the decision was purely precautionary. "After a few hours of finishing my practice, I have not felt anything and everything is fine and under control," said Alcaraz, who will face Li Tu in his opening match on Wednesday. "I think it is not going to be anything serious. We will take care of it in the next few days and we will be extra cautious."

Alcaraz Ready for US Open After Injury

He further added, "I think it was just a scary moment, but I am sure I will be at 100%." This reassurance comes as a relief to fans eager to see him compete at his best in the year's final Grand Slam.

Alcaraz also reflected on his recent Olympic gold medal match against Novak Djokovic. The Serb avenged his Wimbledon defeat by securing a career golden slam. Alcaraz admitted that losing the match was painful but has made him more determined for future Olympic Games.

"It was one of the most important finals of my career, my life," he said. "I know the Olympic Games is every four years, so I don't know if I'm going to have another chance to win the gold. I'm going to fight for it, for sure, at the next Olympic Games."

Alcaraz acknowledged Djokovic's performance in their close match. "It was a difficult moment [for me to] deal with, losing the gold medal in a really close match when I had opportunities," he said. "[Djokovic] was fighting for the same thing as me and he deserved it."

Silver Medal Achievement

Despite the loss, Alcaraz found solace in winning the silver medal. "Days after the Olympics, I realised that I won the silver medal. It was a great achievement for me," he stated.

The tennis world eagerly awaits Alcaraz's performance at Flushing Meadows as he continues to chase greatness on tennis' biggest stage.
