Jannik Sinner secured a stellar victory to defend his Australian Open title on Sunday (January 26).
The Italian tennis star beat Germany's Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to win the final by straight sets in Melbourne, thus winning his third Grand Slam title.

Sinner, who has been outstanding in the Australian Open, was at his very best in the championship clash. Sinner's domination was in show in the first set, although Zverev managed to make inroads in the second set, the Italian managed to win that crucially as well. Then in the 3rd set, another fantastic performance saw him clinch it with ease to secure the title.
"It's an amazing feeling. This is an amazing tournament, for me the most special grand slam. Thank you so much," Sinner said after winning the final.
The Italian was also all in praises for his team and acknowledged his coach Darren Cahill, who is likely to retire after the Australian Open this season.
"My team, what can I say? We worked so hard to be in this position. It's amazing to achieve this thing but mostly to share them with you guys. Darren [Cahill] I know this might be your last Australian Open, I'm happy we can win the trophy," he added.
The World No.1 has dominated tennis since his crowning as the number one player back at the French Open in May. He has now also become the first player to win 22 sets against top 10 opponents in Tennis' history.
