Andy Murray broke his racquet in frustration during a Paris Masters match against Alex de Minaur on Monday (October 30).
In the Paris Masters, Alex de Minaur staged an incredible comeback during the final set, winning a second thrilling game against Andy Murray. The final score was 7-6 (5) 4-6 7-5. Out of frustration, Murray broke his racquet and left the court in disgust.

Every single one of the five games Murray had participated in against De Minaur was a loss, including three recent games from this season. The most recent loss took place in Beijing when Murray missed three possible match-winning points.
On Monday afternoon, in their first round of games, the once top-ranked player was on track to break his losing streak. He had recovered from losing the beginning set tie-break and then boldly took the lead with two breaks at 5-2.
However, Murray was unable to hold either of his upcoming two service games. The 13th-ranking player bounced back and turned the set around, securing another well-fought win.
Murray missed the first match point in the tenth game, sending a return long, and furiously smashed his racquet after giving De Minaur a chance to break-point, which balanced out the score at 5-5.
De Minaur then took hold, causing Murray's anger to flare as he knocked over his drinks and towel during the switch in ends. De Minaur rode the wave of momentum and was accorded his own match point when the chair umpire overturned a decision on the baseline that was proven to be incorrect.
Murray found no relief when his return hit the net, marking De Minaur as the winner after slightly more than three hours of play. Murray has not seen a victory in the Paris Masters since 2016. He took out his disappointment on his racquet once again before unhappily leaving the court after yet another disappointing defeat.
