Aryna Sabalenka vs Paula Badosa Head to Head & Grand Slam Record Ahead of Australian Open 2025 Semi-Final

Top seed and reigning two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka will lock horns with eleventh seed Paula Badosa in the first women's singles semi-final of the Australian Open 2025 at the Rod Laver Arena on Thursday (January 23).

Sabalenka, who won 19 straight matches in Melbourne and is intent on winning her third consecutive Australian Open title, evaded a hiccup against 27th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter-final to reach the last four.

Badosa, on the other hand, ousted third seed Coco Gauff of the United States in the other last eight match to reach the women's singles semi-final. This was the Spanish star's first Top 10 win in a Grand Slam, and also her first over a former major champion in nearly three years.

The 2023 and 2024 champion Sabalenka had earlier secured straight sets wins over USA's Sloane Stephens, Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, Denmark's Clara Tauson and Mirra Andreeva in the previous rounds at the ongoing Australian Open.

Badosa, who opened her campaign with straight sets wins over Xin Wang of China and Australian wildcard Talia Gibson, was made to work hard by 17th seed Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk in the third round before another straight sets victory over Olga Danilovic of Serbia.

Before Sabalenka and Badosa face off in the last four at the Melbourne Park, here is a look at their head-to-head record and results followed by their grand slam numbers:

Badosa, meanwhile, has never won a major in singles or doubles. In fact, the Spaniard has reached only as far as the semi-final only once. She achieved that feat in Melbourne this year, and will be hoping to better that when she takes court on Thursday (January 23).
