Guangzhou, Nov 18: Keeping India's hope on high, tennis star Sania Mirza reached the pre-quarterfinals of the women's singles event in Asian Games 2010 on Thursday, Nov 18.

In the opening match, Sania defeated Wing Yau Venise Chan of Hong Kong 6-1 6-0 at the Aoti Tennis Centre.

In pre-quarterfinal match India's top ranked player will face the winner of the match between sixth seed Shuai Zhang of Hong Kong and Nepal's Malika Rana.
