India's Asian Games Tennis Campaign: Full Draw and Fixtures

Tennis action at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya begins on September 27, with India fielding players and pairs across the men's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles events.

Here is a breakdown of India's fixtures and opponents following Friday's draw.

Asian Games India Tennis Men's Singles

Both of India's men's singles players have received first-round byes.

Nagal could face Tajikistan's Somon Amonov or ninth seed Sergey Fomin of Uzbekistan in the third round. Further ahead, third seed Wu Yibing of China and Japan's eighth seed Hayato Matsuoka are among the potential quarterfinal opponents in his section.

Suresh, meanwhile, could face sixth seed Chun-Hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei in the third round, while Uzbekistan's Khumoyun Sultanov or South Korea's Soonwoo Kwon are possible quarterfinal opponents.

Asian Games India Tennis Men's Doubles

India has two seeded pairs in the men's doubles draw.

Both pairs have received first-round byes.

Balaji and Chandrasekhar will meet the winner of Badrakh Munkhbaatar/Zolbadar Urnukh (Mongolia) and Abhishek Bastola/Pradip Khadka (Nepal).

Bhambri and Suresh will face the winner of Denis Yerseyev/Beibit Zhukayev (Kazakhstan) and Siu Chi Nicholas Cheng/Wong Tsz Fu (Hong Kong).

The two Indian pairs are positioned to potentially meet in the final.

Asian Games India Tennis Women's Doubles

India's women's doubles representation comprises Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale, who are seeded eighth.

They will begin their campaign against Kazakhstan's Anna Danilina and Yuliya Putintseva.

The match represents a difficult opening assignment, with Danilina an established doubles specialist and Putintseva a former top-level singles player.

Asian Games India Tennis Mixed Doubles

India has two seeded combinations in the mixed doubles draw, the event in which the country won gold at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games through Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale.

Bhambri and Bhosale have received a first-round bye. They will face the winner of Ali Yazdani/Mandegar Farzami (Iran) and Chun-Hsin Tseng/Su-Wei Hsieh (Chinese Taipei).

Balaji and Raina, meanwhile, open directly against Hong Kong's Kairan Creer Thompson and Eudice Wong Chong.

No Indian in Women's Singles

India does not have a player in the women's singles main draw at the Asian Games.

The women's singles field is headed by Alexandra Eala of the Philippines, who reached a career-high world No. 18 in August 2026, and China's second seed Zhang Shuai.

When does Asian Games tennis begin?

The tennis competition begins on September 27 at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, with the singles events scheduled through October 3.

Asian Games champions will also earn qualification spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
