ATP World Tour Finals: Novak Djokovic defeats Milos Raonic, advances to semis

London, Nov 16: World number 2 Novak Djokovic defeated Milos Raonic 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5) here to claim a berth in the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Finals.

The Serb needed 2 hours and 14 minutes during the match on Tuesday (Nov 15) to dispatch the Canadian in the match at London's O2 Arena, Efe news reported.

Raonic can still reach the semifinals with a win against Belgium's Dominic Thiem, who beat Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 earlier Tuesday.

Djokovic, meanwhile, is poised to reclaim the number 1 ranking from Britain's Andy Murray if he reaches the final and wins.

Murray faces Japan's Kei Nishikori on Wednesday for another of the semifinal slots.
