Reigning double champion Aryna Sabalenka will aim for a three-peat when she faces ninteenth seed Madison Keys in the Australian Open 2025 women's singles final at the Rod Laver Arena on Saturday (January 25).
Sabalenka reached the finals by defeating 11th seed Paula Badosa in the semifinal. Beating Badosa 6-4, 6-2, the defending champion extended her winning streak at Melbourne Park to 20 matches. The star player remains undefeated in 2025, extending her win streak to 11 matches.

Keys, on the other hand, fought back from a set down and sealed a tie-breaker in the decider to overcome second seed Iga Swiatek 5-7, 6-2, 7-6(10) in the other semi-final to reach her first title clash in Melbourne.
Before their semi-final meeting, Keys had secured just one win in the previous five matches against Swiatek, with all her losses coming in straight sets. However, when it mattered the most, Keys conquered Swiatek in a match lasting two hours and 35 minutes
Now, the American will look to do something similar when she faces the world number one and the favourite, Sabalenka in the summit clash. Before Sabalenka and Keys battle at the Melbourne Park, here is a look at their head-to-head record, results, grand slam numbers followed by the telecast details:
The 2025 Australian Open final will be the sixth meeting between Sabalenka and Keys, just three months after Sabalenka was victorious over the American in the round of 16 at the Beijing Open 2024.
In the five previous meetings, Sabalenka has won four times, including two Grand Slam victories in 2023 at Wimbledon and the US Open. Keys' only win against Sabalenka came back in 2021 at the German Open in Berlin, where she came through a tight three-set encounter to reach the quarter-finals.
The standout clash between the pair came at the 2023 US Open semi-final: Keys began with a 6-0 first-set bagel before Sabalenka came back to win tie breaks in the second and third sets to reach the final at Flushing Meadows. Sabalenka has seen off Keys three times on hard courts.
Sabalenka, a two-time Australian Open champion, has won a singles major three times, starting with back-to-back titles in Melbourne followed by the triumph in US Open last year. She has also won two grand slam titles in doubles, winning in Melbourne in 2021 after US Open win in 2019.
Keys, meanwhile, has never won a major in singles or doubles. In fact, the American has reached only as far as the final only once in a grand slam event prior to Australian Open 2025. She achieved that feat in 2017 US Open, but ended up losing that title clash against her compatriot Sloane Stephens.
