Baker's Basket junior tennis meet from Nov 7

Pune Nov 1 (UNI) The seventh edition of the ''Baker's Basket'' junior tennis tournament, being hosted by the Capt Sunny Jacob Tennis Academy, will commence at the synthetic courts of the Ladies Club here from November 7.

Tournament Director Sunny Jacob, while briefing reporters here today, said that despite being a non-ranking tournament, the meet has evoked good response and over 200 boys and girls have confirmed their participation.

The basic aim behind hosting the annual tournament is to hone the talents of the juniors and further their tennis career, Capt Jacob said.

Baker's Basket managing director Rajendra Kelshikar, who was also present on the occasion, stressed the need to catch the players young and mould them into champions.

The competition will be held for boys and girls under 10, under 12, under 14 and under 16.
