Bhupathi-Henman through QF in Legg Mason Classic

Washington, July 31 (UNI) Mahesh Bhupathi and Tim Henman outplayed Korean-American pair of Hyung Taik Lee and Michael Russell 6-2, 7-5 to storm into the quarter-final of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic here.

The Indo-British combination will now meet the winner of another first round match between third seeded pair of Paul Hanley (Australia)/Kevin Ullyett (Zimababwe) and Jeff Coetzee (South Africa)/Rogier Wassen (Netherland).

Searching for a stable partner for a while, Bhupathi teamed up with Hanley at Indianapolis last week but lost to Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick in the first round, despite being seeded top in the hard court ATP event.

Meanwhile, Leander Paes and Czech Republic's Martin Damm have been seeded second in Legg Mason Classic and they will play wild card Indo-US pair of Som Dev Varman and John Isner in the opening round of the 600,000 dollar hard court event which has only 16 pairs in the field.

In singles main draw, qualifier Dev Varman will face American Paul Goldstein in the first round.

Earlier, Prakash Amritraj failed to qualify for the tourney after going down 6-7(1), 5-7 to Wesley Whitehouse of South Africa in the second and final qualifying round.
