Basil, Oct 24 (UNI) Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles advanced into the quarter-finals of the Davidoff Swiss Indoor ATP tournament here.
The second seed Bhupathi and Knowles overpowered Spanish duo of Marcel Granollers and Feliciano Lopez in 6-4, 6-1.
However, the other Indian in the fray, Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy could not cross the quarter-final hurdle as the two were beaten by the German pair of Christopher Kas and Philipp Kohlschreiber 3-6, 0-6.
Bhupathi and Knowles were hardly tested as the two always held the upperhand in the match and in the second set the duo raced to a 6-1 lead to secure a semi-final berth in the tournament.
The Indo-Bahamian pair will now take on Australian Jordan Kerr and Finland's Jarkko Niemen, who outplayed Spaniards Oscar Hernandez and Albert Montanes 6-4, 6-3, in the semi-final.
