Bhupathi-Vizner storm into Q/F of Roger Masters
Montreal, Aug 8 (UNI) Eighth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Pavel Vizner demolished Chilean-Croatian pair of Fernando Gonzalez and Ivan Ljubicic 6-4, 6-2 to strom into the quarterfinals of the 2.45 million dollars Roger Masters here.
The Indo-Czech pair got off to a rusty start to begin with but the unseeded duo's inexperience shone through when they caved meekly in the second set to lose in straight sets at the hard court tournament.
Bhupathi's estranged mate, Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm was lucky to got a bye in the opening round of the event.
The fourth seeded duo of Paes and Damm will now run into the winners of the match between French pair of Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra and Canadian wildcards Frank Dancevic and Frederic Niemeyer.
The mouth-watering prospect of Bhupathi and Paes attacking each other from either side of the net looks a realistic possibilty as a win for Peas-Damm would pitch them against Bhupathi and Vizner in the last eight stage.
