Borg backs Murray to win Wimbledon in future

By Staff

London, June 19 : Bjorn Borg, the former five-time Wimbledon champion, believes if Andy Murray can avoid injury, he will eventually win Wimbledon.

Speaking after Murray was made 12th seed for the tournament, Borg said that the British No1 has the talent to end Britain's 72-year wait for a men's singles champion if he stays fit.

"Andy is a future world No 1. He has been a bit unlucky with injuries but when he is fit, he can win any tournament. I like the way he plays. I don't think he will win it but he could be a champion next year," The Sun quoted Borg, as saying.

Murray missed SW19 last year with a wrist injury and pulled out of the Artois Championships with a thumb problem, which has now improved.

Speaking at the HSBC's Champions of Wimbledon campaign, Borg added: "I'd go for Nadal to win. He is moving better and more aggressive."
