China's Jing Jing Lu lifts-ITF Women's Tennis title

Pune, Nov 15 (UNI) Eighth seeded Jing Jing Lu (China) won her maiden title as she outplayed top seeded Melanie South (Britain) in straight sets to lift the 25,000 USD NECC-ITF women's tennis Championships here today.

The 19- year old Jing Jing Lu played solid all round tennis to down strongly built Melanie South 6-3, 6-1 in a match which lasted 70 minutes.

The victory fetched Jing Jing Lu 25 WTA points and a prize of USD 2940 (Rs1,44,000) while South received 17 points and a prize money of USD 1666 (Rs 80,000) for her efforts.
