CLTA and CYP Asia Centre sign MoU for tennis training
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (UNI) The Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP)-Asia Centre and the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to felicitate implementation of CYP's project entitled 'Bonding Beyond Boundaries' through sports.
Under the CYP's project, the CLTA, headed by Rajan Kashyap, will provide specialised residential training in tennis to young boys and girls in the age group of 11 to 13 selected from seven Commonwealth countries, including Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
The MoU, signed by CLTA Secretary M Ramsekhar and CYP Asia Centre Director R K Mishra, is for a period of five years. It will be reviewed after expiry of the agreement. Its provisions would be binding on both sides unless amended by mutual consent.
Chandigarh Finance Secretary S K Sandhu presided over the signing ceremony. CLTA chairman Rajan Kashyap, CLTA president Justice S S Sodhi, former Punjab DGP Sarabjit Singh, Chandigarh Sports Director I S Sandhu, Chandigarh Chief Engineer V K Bhardwaj and members of the CLTA were present on the occasion.
The CYP wanted to utilise the expertise developed by the CLTA for imparting training to the participants at the CLTA complex in Sector 10. The CLTA agreed to provide residential coaching to those children in a conducive enviornment to further hone their skills for sporting excellence.
CLTA (Director-Coaching) Gajendra Singh will be overall incharge of the training schedule of the foreign players.
