CWG Tennis: Sania Mirza sails into semifinals

New Delhi, Oct 7: Following her male counterpart, Somdev Devvarman, Sania Mirza has also sailed into the women's singles tennis semifinals at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

The second seeded Indian defeated eighth seeded New Zealand"s Marina Erakovic 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday, Oct 7.

Earlier, Somdev fought his way into the CWG semifinals beating sixth seed Rubin Statham 6-3 6-4. The Indian top seed player's quarterfinal opponent was also from New Zealand.
