Daniil Medvedev Leads PBG Eagles into the World Tennis League
Daniil Medvedev, the third-ranked tennis player in the world, is set to lead the PBG Eagles, a team owned by the Punit Balan Group (PBG), in the upcoming season of the World Tennis League (WTL).
This exciting sports event will take place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi from December 21 to 24, and it promises to be a unique fusion of sports and entertainment, featuring 16 of the world's top tennis stars.

The Punit Balan Group, known for its investments in various sports leagues in India, is expanding its footprint onto the global sports stage with the PBG Eagles. In addition to Medvedev, the team will boast the talents of World No. 5, Andrey Rublev, and other exceptional players.
Punit Balan, Chairman and Managing Director of the group, expressed his enthusiasm for the venture, emphasizing the group's dedication to creating a global sports property. The PBG Eagles are gearing up to provide thrilling tennis action and are eyeing the championship title.
Punit Balan Group's foray into the World Tennis League complements its involvement in various sports leagues across India, including handball, table tennis, kho kho, badminton, panja, and chess. The group is also supporting around 60 emerging sports talents throughout the country, solidifying its commitment to the world of sports.
Rajesh Banga, Chairman of the World Tennis League, warmly welcomed the Punit Balan Group into the league, praising their dedication to sports growth and promotion. He anticipates that their participation will elevate the level of competition, making the upcoming season a truly world-class tennis event.

The World Tennis League features an intriguing format that divides players into four teams, with two matches scheduled for each day over the first three days. These matches encompass men's and women's singles and doubles, along with mixed doubles.
The top two teams will then compete for the championship title on December 24. This event, known as the 'Greatest Show on Court,' will be broadcasted to more than 125 countries and will showcase top tennis talents, including women's World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, 2023 Australian Open finalist Stefano Tsitsipas, and four-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek.
