India's Davis Cup captain Rohit Rajpal has confirmed that renowned tennis player Rohan Bopanna will be joining the Indian team on Wednesday.
Bopanna recently finished as runners-up at the US Open men's doubles. The team is currently getting ready to face Morocco in the World Group II play-offs, scheduled to happen this coming weekend at the Vijayant Khand Mini Stadium in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

Bopanna, aged 43 and holding a current double's ranking of 7, made history last week. He became the oldest player ever to compete in a Grand Slam doubles final during the US Open, a testament to his continued dedication to the sport.
Anil Jain, the President of the All India Tennis Association (AITA), relayed his admiration for the veteran player saying, "The Davis Cup holds prestige and has experienced many legendary moments. The forthcoming match in Lucknow is a significant event for us all. Speaking on behalf of AITA and India's tennis fans, we congratulate Rohan Bopanna and eagerly anticipate watching him serve one last time for India at the Davis Cup. We appreciate his dedication and the high level of play he demonstrated during the US Final, he truly embodies the spirit of the game."
In addition to Bopanna, the six-man Indian Davis Cup team boasts an impressive line up. It includes India's highest-ranking singles player, Sumit Nagal, as well as Sasikumar Mukund, Digvijay Pratap Singh, Yuki Bhambri, and Ramkumar Ramanathan.
"Rohan Bopanna will join the team's training on Wednesday. He has been part of the Indian Davis Cup since 2002 and his presence brings invaluable experience to the squad. We have a well-balanced team that combines experience and youth, and we are confident in our team's ability to perform at its best," Rajpal, the non-playing captain of the Indian Davis Cup team and also the Executive Committee Member of Indian Olympic Association, commented.
