Digvijay: Top-Seeded Indian at ITF Davanagere WTT Tournament

ITF Davanagere WTT Tournament: Ramkumar Ramanathan, who won the Dharwad Men's World Tennis Tour title on Sunday, will be looking to continue his winning ways when he competes in the ITF Davanagere Men's World Tennis Tour, the main round of which begins on Tuesday at the District Tennis Association Davanagere courts.

Regardless of Ramkumar's victory, the 28-year-old will enter the event as a 'unseeded' competitor. Nick Chappell of the United States has been handed first place in a strong field that will battle for a total prize fund of $15,000 USD.

Bogdan Bobrov is ranked second, with Indian Digvijay Pratap Singh ranked third. Florent Bax of France is seeded fourth, followed by Sidharth Rawat of India. SD Prajwal Dev, Rishab Agarwal, and Niki Poonacha round out the top eight seeds in that order.

The singles champion will receive US$ 2160 and 15 ATP points, while the runner-up will receive US$ 1272 and eight ATP points.

The wildcards for the main draw were given to Manish Ganesh, Suraj Prabodh, Ranjeet Virali-Murugesan, and Ajay Malik.

Meanwhile, eight qualifiers advanced to the main draw, including top seed Atharva Sharma, who defeated Australia's Matthew Woerndle 7-6 (5), 6-3. Adil Kalyanpur, an unseeded player, stunned third seeded Chirag Duhan 6-7 (3), 6-1, 15-13 in a duel that lasted more than two hours. In another intriguing match, Tushar Madan defeated seventh seed 7-Shivank Bhatnagar in 1 hour 56 minutes, winning 3-6, 7-6 (10), 11-9.
