Djokovic Secures Spot In Olympic Quarter-Finals At Paris 2024

Stefanos Tsitsipas, who defeated Sebastian Baez, will be Djokovic's next opponent. The 37-year-old Serbian has triumphed over Tsitsipas in their last ten encounters. "It's very humid," said Djokovic after his win, noting the sweltering conditions in Paris. "I just hope it rains so it cools down the temperature and the air a bit. But you have to accept and embrace the conditions. It's the same for you and your opponent, so you have to make the best out of it."

Djokovic into Paris 2024 Quarters

At 37 years and 61 days old, Djokovic is now the oldest player to reach the men's singles quarter-finals at the Olympics since tennis was reintroduced to the Summer Olympics program in 1988. This milestone adds another feather to his illustrious career.

Lorenzo Musetti also made headlines by defeating Taylor Fritz. Musetti's victory means he has matched the best Olympic singles run by an Italian man since Paolo Cane in Seoul 1988 and Renzo Furlan in Atlanta 1996.
