Federer, Borg become doubles partners

By Staff

Melbourne, July 30 : Tennis greats Roger Federer and Bjorn Borg are to play doubles together for the first time in a special exhibition game planned for Macau, China on November 20.

And they could be going up against their respective greatest rivals Rafael Nadal and John McEnroe.

The Tour of Champions event will be held at a top Macau hotel and will start with a one set showdown between old adversaries Borg and McEnroe, followed by a best-of-three-set clash between Federer and either Nadal or James Blake.

The result of the Davis Cup semi-final match between Spain and the United States in September will determine whether it is Nadal or Blake who plays in the event. Whoever loses in the Davis Cup will play in Macao.

The doubles opposing Federer and Borg against McEnroe and either Nadal or Blake will follow the two singles matches, the Daily Telegraph reported.
