Chennai, Dec 30 (UNI) A larger field of talented players and only a few points seperating him from world number one Roger Federer have been keeping him in the number two slot on ATP rankings for a long time, Spain's three times French open champain Rafael Nadal said today.
Addressing a press conference on the eve of the Chennai Open, kick starting the new season here tomorrow, Nadal said ''in the natural course, I should have been number one, but Roger has accumulated more points than me''.
''I want to be in the number two position 50 more years'', Nadal who was also two time Wimbledon runner up said sarcastically.
''I am not worried about Roger'', he said adding lot of other talented guys are also coming to the circuit.
On his fitness, he said ''I am one hundred per cent fit there is no question of any injury''.
''I am training hard for the new season'', he said adding ''I practice six hours a day''.
On his plans for the new season, Nadal said ''just play better tennis''.
''I am looking forward to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympics since it is very special for me and it needs special motivation to play there'', he added.
To a question on reported match fixing in tennis, he first refused to comment. However, he observed ''I have 100 per cent confidence in fellow players.'' ''It (match fixing) is not true'', he said adding ''if something is happening ATP should control''.
