London, Jun 28: Trust champions to figure out flaws and thus resurrect their floundering prospects, they won't disappoint you even slightly. Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer did just that to overcome Mikhail Youzhny on Jun 27 and secure a berth in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2011.

After dropping his first set of the tournament, Federer staged a remarkable comeback to sink Youzhny 6-7 6-3 6-3 6-3.

In the post-match conference, Federer who is bidding to be the only man after Pete Sampras to win seven Wimbledon titles, said, "It was a tough first set to lose as I was playing well. Clearly losing the first set in a slam is tough mentally. I was happy I played really well in the second set. It was getting dark...in the end the sun came up and it was perfect."

Federer was sort of lackadaisical to start with, but slowly and steadily began to get into his groove, until Youzhny, seized the opportunity, thanks to some sloppy shots from Federer and took the first set 7-5.

However Federer soon found his rhythm and did not allow the Russian to make any further inroads. He then put on display his full repertoire of shots and won the match to set up a quarter-final date with 12th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France.

Speaking about his impending clash with the big-serving Tsonga, Federer said, "It's always somewhat tricky playing on Court One. It feels a touch slower, the sounds are a bit different...I'm looking forward to a tough battle with Tsonga."
