Federer welcomes Prince Williams to tennis world

Melbourne, Jan 22: Tennis legend Roger Federer's easy entry into the third round of the Australian Open turned interesting when Prince Williams arrived at the stadium.

The Prince who was greeted with a standing ovation took his seat alongside Tennis Australia officials amid applause and watched the 'King' of the tennis court in action.

The night turned even more exciting for the 15,000 spectators when former Grand Slam champion Jim Courier caught up with Federer for an interview on the court after the match.

When Courier asked the Swiss champ to welcome the royalty, Federer said, "Your Royal Highness. Welcome to the world of tennis."

Speaking to Federer about his life 'off the court', Courier questioned him about his wife and his twin daughters as the champ's wife Mirka smiled on.

Federer defeated Victor Hanescu of Romania 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 in a 38-minute long second round match on Thursday, Jan 21 night to gain a comfortable entry into the third round.
