Former tennis star David Nalbandian had a near death experience

Former Argentine Tennis star David Nalbandian cheated death to survive somehow during a car rally.

Bengaluru, Nov 7: Former Tennis ace David Nalbandian had a near death experience in Argentina after his car crashed during a rally.

34-year-old Nalbandian joined car rally racing after quitting from Tennis in 2013.

The former world number 3 who was rallying in Argentina, lost his control over his vehicle. From footages captured on spot, suggests the car rolled twice in the air before crashing.

Nalbandian and his co-driver were taken out of the broken car by the fans present on spot.

The rally was happening in San Justo in the province of Entre Rios, 200 miles away from the capital Buenos Aires.

On quitting Tennis and joining motorsport driving, the Argentine ace had said earlier:"Tennis was my job and racing is a hobby. It's very different.

"I don't have pressure here. I am learning and trying to do my best but not as a professional."

David Nalbandian is the only Argentine Tennis star till date to reach semi-finals of a grand slam. He rtired from the sport on October 1, 2013.
