HCL ITF 2026: Shruti Ahlawat Clinches Singles Title Tournament Concludes At DLTA Stadium
New Delhi, May 3: The HCL ITF W15 New Delhi wrapped up successfully at the DLTA Stadium, underlining its growing importance in strengthening the pathway for women's tennis in India. After a week of competitive action, India's Shruti Ahlawat emerged as the singles champion, while the Russian duo of Ksenia Laskutova and Ekaterina Yashina secured the doubles crown.
Held from April 27 to May 3, the tournament featured a 74-player field, including 62 Indian participants, competing for valuable ranking points on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour and a total prize purse of USD 15,000.

The doubles final on May 2 saw Laskutova and Yashina defeat Arina Arifullina and Michika Ozeki in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. The winning pair showcased strong chemistry and composure under pressure to seal the title.
In the singles final, Ahlawat delivered a gritty performance against Poland's Zuzanna Kolonus, winning 7-5, 6-2, 7-6 to lift the trophy. Her victory marks a significant milestone in her emerging professional career.
The tournament also highlighted India's rising talent pool. Fourteen-year-old Jensi Kanabar made headlines by becoming the youngest Indian to reach the quarterfinals of a professional ITF women's event. Other Indian players, including Zeel Desai, Akansha Dileep Nitture, and Sonal Patil, also contributed to a strong domestic presence.
With participants from countries such as Russia, Japan, the United States, and Poland, the tournament offered Indian players valuable international exposure on home soil.
Speaking on the occasion, Sundar Mahalingam, President - Strategy at HCL Group, emphasized the company's commitment to nurturing talent. He noted that providing competitive opportunities within India helps players grow and overcome barriers associated with international travel.
Tournament director Vishal Uppal, who is also the captain of India's Billie Jean King Cup team, highlighted the importance of consistent exposure to international-level competition in accelerating player development. The HCL ITF W15 New Delhi continues to play a vital role in India's tennis ecosystem, offering a crucial platform for players to earn ranking points and transition into higher levels of the global circuit.
