Second seed Iga Swiatek of Poland will take on nineteenth seed Madison Keys in the second women's singles semi-final of the Australian Open 2025 at the Rod Laver Arena on Thursday (January 23).
Swiatek, who has dropped just 14 games in the five matches in Melbourne and aims for her first final in the year's first grand slam, eased past American eighth seed Emma Navarro in the quarter-finals.

Keys, on the other hand, fought back from a set down to see off Ukrainian 28th seed Elina Svitolina in the other quarter-final. The veteran American has won 10 consecutive matches stemming from her Adelaide title win. This equals her longest career winning streak.
Four-time Roland Garros winners and one-time US Open champion Swiatek had earlier secured straight sets wins over Czechia's Katerina Siniakova, Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova, Great Britain's Emma Raducanu and Germany's lucky loser Eva Lys in the previous rounds in Melbourne.
Keys, who opened her campaign with straight sets win over her compatriot Ann Li, was forced into the decider by Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse before straight sets wins against fellow American 10th seed Danielle Collins and Kazakhstan's sixth seed Elena Rybakina.
Before Swiatek and Keys face off in the last four at the Melbourne Park, here is a look at their head-to-head record and results followed by their grand slam numbers:
Swiatek leads 4-1 in her head-to-head record against Keys with the Pole sandwiching two wins to the American's solitary win. The duo have never met at a grand slam event so far. It's split at 1-1 in their meetings on hard courts, a surface on which they will clash today.
Swiatek, a two-time winner in France and once in USA, has won a singles major five times, starting with French Open in 2020 followed by wins at the Roland Garros in 2022, 2023 and 2024. She won her first US Open title in 2022. In Melbourne, she has reached only as far as the semis so far.
Keys, meanwhile, has never won a major in singles or doubles. In fact, the Spaniard has reached only as far as the semi-final only once. Her best finish has been a runners up result in 2017 US Open. In Australian Open, she has reached the last four just thrice.
