India vs Pakistan Davis Cup Records: List of all India's wins against Pakistan from 1962 to 2024

India yet again recorded a commendable win over Pakistan in Davis Cup. The Indian men’s tennis team blanked their arch-rivals 4-0 in the World Group I playoffs at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad.

It was a special occasion for the Indian team as they played their first match on Pakistan soil in 60 years. An identical result of 4-0 was imposed by the Indian team comprising Akhtar Ali, Premjit Lall, and Shiv Prakash Misra on their last visit in 1964.

India has now recorded an overall 8-0 against Pakistan since the two neighbouring countries first met in the competition in 1962. Interestingly, India has managed to blank Pakistan in five matches in the past.

India’s doubles pair of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni rallied past Aqeel Khan and Muzammil Murtaza 6-2, 7-6 to complete an unassailable lead of 3-0 after Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sriram Balaji notched victories against experienced players Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Aqeel on the opening day.

In the reverse singles game, Nikki Poonacha outsmarted the 21-year-old Pakistan youngster Muhammad Shoaib 6-3, 6-4 in a game that lasted for one hour and four minutes. India earned a spot in the World Group I of the Davis Cup, scheduled in September this year.

A total of 12 nations have progressed to the World Group I tie in September, while the losing 12 teams will compete in the World Group II tie, which will also take place concurrently.
