India vs Pakistan Davis Cup 2024: A Look At Pak Tennis Team's Strengths And Weaknesses

The highly anticipated Davis Cup 2024 encounter between Pakistan and India on the grass courts of Islamabad on February 3 and 4. All eyes are on the current state of the Pakistan Davis Cup team and if they are capable of posing a threat to their higher-ranked opponents.

Pakistan will lock horns with Indian tennis players after 1964 on their home soil, which makes this tie monumental for Pakistan tennis. Alongside him is another veteran player, Aqeel Khan, who does not have a rank in singles or doubles. Both had great success throughout the years, especially in Davis Cup.

Supporting them in singles matches is Muzammil Murtaza(23-year-old) ranked 1679. Muhamad Shoaib and Barkat Ullah are the other players of the Pakistan team and neither of them has any international rankings. Muhammad Abid will be the captain of the Pakistan Davis Cup team.

On the other hand, In the absence of the country's top-ranked singles player, Sumit Nagal ranked 138 and Sasikumar Mukund ranked 345 in the ATP singles ranking. Ramkumar Ramanathan, Saketh Myneni and Yuki Bhambri look most likely to present the Indian challenge. Team India also has N Sriram Balaji and Niki Poonacha. Team India will also miss its ace veteran Rohan Bopanna ranked 1 in the doubles ranking. Once, played alongside Qureshi, in a duo that used to be known as Indo-Pak Express.
