Jannik Sinner Achieves Rare Feat at French Open 2026, Last Reached by Federer, Nadal and Djokovic
Jannik Sinner continued his remarkable dominance on the ATP Tour by becoming only the fourth men's player this century to register 30 consecutive victories after defeating French wildcard Clement Tabur in the opening round of the French Open 2026.
The world No. 1 eased past Tabur 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Tuesday, extending a winning streak that now places him alongside Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in one of tennis' most exclusive clubs.

Jannik Sinner becomes fourth player this century to win 30 straight matches
The Italian entered Roland Garros on a 29-match unbeaten run and showed little sign of slowing down against world No. 171 Tabur. With the victory, Sinner became the first active player outside Novak Djokovic to achieve a 30-match winning streak and only the fourth man to do so since 2000.
The milestone further underlines Sinner's dominance over the last few months, having already completed the career Golden Masters earlier this month by capturing the Italian Open title.
His 30-match run has been built on remarkable consistency, with the 24-year-old dropping just three sets during the streak heading into Paris.
Clinical start puts Jannik Sinner in complete control
Playing in the night session on Philippe-Chatrier, Sinner wasted little time asserting his authority. He broke serve in the opening game and quickly established a 4-1 lead before wrapping up the first set with a trademark forehand winner.
The second set followed a similar pattern as the top seed dictated rallies from the baseline, using his trademark power and depth to keep Tabur pinned behind the court.
By the end of the second set, Sinner appeared firmly on course for a routine straight-sets victory.
Tabur briefly tests the world No. 1
The Frenchman, competing in only his second Grand Slam main draw, produced his best tennis in the third set and enjoyed strong support from the home crowd.
Tabur struck several impressive winners and briefly frustrated Sinner with his resistance, forcing the Italian into a handful of uncharacteristic errors.
However, the world No. 1 quickly regained control, breaking down Tabur's defence with relentless baseline pressure before serving out the match in straight sets.
Sinner relishing return to Roland Garros
Speaking after the match, Sinner admitted opening-round contests are never straightforward despite the comfortable scoreline.
"I'm happy to be back here, where I have great memories. Overall the first-round matches are never easy," Sinner said.
He also acknowledged the French crowd after overcoming a home favourite.
"Thanks for coming, thanks for the support and thanks for being fair to me. I know I was playing a Frenchman."
Favourite for the French Open title
With two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz absent through injury, Sinner has arrived in Paris as the overwhelming favourite for the men's singles title.
The Italian has won 30 matches in succession, captured multiple titles during that stretch and arrives at Roland Garros in arguably the best form of his career.
If he continues at this level, Sinner will have a strong opportunity to add a maiden French Open crown to his growing Grand Slam collection while extending one of the most impressive winning streaks seen in men's tennis this century.
