Karnataka's, Ruhan Komandur, triumphs again at the AITA National Ranking Championship!

At the AITA National Championship series (CS-7) Under-14, held in Bengaluru during the summer of April 2023, Ruhan Komandur beat Darsh from Maharashtra 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 to win the title.

The Bengaluru State captain and National Ranked Tennis player, Ruhan, has emerged as a promising young athlete with dynamic and determined resilience since the start of his national circuit in the Under 14 and Under 16 age categories earlier this year.

The 13-year-old tennis champ from Bengaluru recently took a couple of months' break from competitive national tournaments to focus on his schooling and tennis technique and has now returned with great results.

Ruhan's energetic and powerful game has won him numerous accolades. His impressive performance at these events is indicative of the immense potential and talent that he possesses.

Last year, the Bishop Cotton Boys School prodigy won laurels for his school and the city at the national level. In the coming months, Ruhan has a series of tournaments lined up which will take him travelling across the country.

His training team has revamped his schedule with equal or more importance being given to physical and mental fitness, and a strict diet along with his tennis program.

Ruhan has shown exceptional adaptability and skill in responding to the changes and demands of the professional sport. His mother Dr Kavita & father Mr Kowshik Komandur, who plan his training and travel, are hopeful of seeing him clinch a good number of tournaments this year both in the Under 14 and Under 16 categories.

They also aim to see him play a few international ITF tournaments towards the end of this year, and secure more victories for himself and the country.

As Ruhan continues to make strides in the world of competitive tennis, his 11-year-old younger brother Aryan Komandur has been training hard and is gearing up for the Under 12 and Under 14 tournaments this year.

Tennis enthusiasts from Bengaluru are eagerly anticipating seeing the local duo conquer the opponents and establish themselves as promising athletes.
