Bengaluru, December 20: Anna Kournikova and her long-time partner Enrique Iglesias who recently announced the arrival of twins had reportedly kept their pregnancy secret by going undercover, according to informed sources.

The Russian tennis siren and the Spanish singer, who have been together since 2001 are known to be very particular when it comes to their privacy and according to insiders they did everything to keep the pregnancy secret.

Iglesias and Kournikova introduced their newborn twins, - a boy and a girl - Nicholas and Lucy, on Saturday (December 16), surprising their fans all over the world.

A source close to the duo said the Russian tennis star and singer went through extreme measures to keep the pregnancy secret from the public.

"I saw her cute belly," a source said.

"A friend told me like five months ago (that) they were pregnant but keeping it very, very undercover."

The source continued, saying the couple was "very private but very generous with local charities."

"They basically only hang out with family and very close friends," the source said. "They mostly keep to themselves."

The newborn babies are the first children of both Iglesias, 42, and Kournikova, 36.

Despite not winning a WTA singles title, Kournikova's appearance and celebrity status made her one of the best known tennis stars worldwide in the late 90s.

Her best performance in a Grand Slam singles tie was the 2001 Australian Open where she reached the quarterfinals.

She achieved greater success in doubles, where she went on become world No. 1.

With Swiss Miss Martina Hingis as her partner, Kournikova won Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002, and the WTA Championships in 1999 and 2000. They were often referred to themselves as the "Spice Girls of Tennis".
