Bangalore, July 3: Sachin Tendulkar can be considered as the god of cricket but the cricket is not a very popular game in the whole world. The sport, which enjoys much popularity in a few countries, is not even played in most of the nations in the world. And when a Russian tennis star like Maria Sharapova says she does not know who is Sachin Tendulkar, then Indians and Sachin's fans should not create such fuss which has been created now.

Sachin fans expressed their rage against the tennis star. After her match at Wembledon, she was asked, "Sachin Tendulkar was the other person who came in at the same time as David (Beckham). Do you know who Sachin is?" .

While Sharapova does not know who is Sachin, there are chances that the cricket legend may not know who is the Russian ice hockey champion, a sport which is very popular in that country. There is a celebrity, a well-read and well-travelled celebrity with India connection was unaware of god of cricket -- Sachin Tendulkar. He is none other than but Dalai Lama.

Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader, had taken refuge in Indian in 1959 and has been residing in the country ever since. During one IPL match in Himachal Pradesh, Dalai Lama had visited the stadium and watched the T20 match between Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers.

When he was asked -- "Do you know a certain Sachin Tendulkar"? After a slight pause he replied, "No, I don't remember!" The Tibetan leader's answer shocked and surprised all who were present at the HPCA stadium in Shimla in 2011.
