Rafael Nadal takes the 1st US Open title

New York, Sep 14: The World number 1 tennis player Rafael Nadal, joined the ranks of all-time greats of tennis as he beat Novak Djokovic in the US Open on Monday, Sep 13.

The Spaniard, 24, won a rain-interrupted final 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2 at Flushing Meadows in New York. He now completes his set of nine grand slam titles.

Nadal also becomes only the seventh man in history to complete the set of major titles - Wimbledon, the French, Australian and US Opens.
